After a long preparation, we are very excited to announce that we are starting to demolish the building next door this month!

This will pave the way for our new building to start so we can bring to life the building that we have envisioned for all of our clients.

We would like to advise that once demolition takes place, the it will be quite noisy in and around our practice. We once again thank everyone for your input on our plans.

See below the proposed plan for the new building!

We are excited to be able to welcome a new, passionate, physiotherapist to our friendly team. Based in Wagga Wagga’s healthcare precinct, you will love working with our wonderful clients, strong referral network, and the wider community.

For a confidential discussion get in touch with Andrew Preston (Head of Recruitment) andrew@activephysiowagga.com.au or call 0269257734. If you would like to know more about working at Active Physiotherapy, reach out to any of our team (via Linked in) to find out why Active works for them.

Physiotherapist Soph is incredibly passionate about helping those with persistent pain. Sophie is currently doing her Masters of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) through the University of Sydney and is acutely aware of the need for Wagga to have both a public and private option for pain management services.

Sophie has started a public Facebook page to push for a local public pain service.

She has also created a private group on Facebook for those who want to share their stories and find support from those also suffering from chronic pain or their carers. This group can be found here.

After a successful uptake of our over 65 Exercise Right classes we are getting involved with the Exercise Right Week event - calling it Active Physiotherapy "Walk & Talk"

Date: 23rd of May - registrations open 9:30am for a 10am start.
Location:Leaving from Apex Park, Lake Albert
Duration: You can walk as long as you can. We will be there to help you. For those who want to measure we will set up a few signs of turn around points to allow for smaller walks - 1km / 2km / 3km and the full 5.5 km loop.

Lake Albert provides a beautiful peaceful outlook for the mental health benefit of exercise. This event will also allow attendees to meet with each other. Exercise has so many benefits. This Exercise Right Week, we want to highlight some of the incredible physical, mental, and social health benefits of exercise (that have NOTHING to do with the number on the scale!).

From Thursday 5th May 2022 Tayla will join Curtis in Tumut each week.

Tayla will see paediatric patients. Tayla has a passion for treating babies and children with developmental delays, disabilities and neurological conditions but also loves to just help children in general. NDIS self managed and plan managed can be seen in Tumut.

If you are agency managed we ask that you attend our Wagga locations (feel free to talk to Brooke for further details).

We have two new gorgeous baby girls to introduce to the Active team!

Active's Exercise Physiologist Karen and her partner Brendan welcome gorgeous Liara May (left) and Physiotherapist Joe, and his partner Jordan welcomed beautiful Remi Claire (right).

Two beautiful babies to be cuddled and spoilt!

In April we raised money for BrAshA-T (here). You can read about a local Wagga Wagga family who have 2 children with A-T on the website and their quest to raise money for research. We are honoured to help.
We value being a for purpose social business and it is at the forefront of all that we do.

In May we are giving to the Motor Neurone Fight to fund research to find a cure. We were approached to support two locals who were raising funds to support the cause by riding over 880 kms in 7 days. .

Coming to work each day knowing that you not only help those who come for treatment but you help to donate to worthy causes together with your patient makes your day brighter.

Emma Doyle is a 4th year Physiotherapy student at Charles Sturt University. She comes from Albury and studies on the CSU Albury/Wodonga campus.

Emma has a strong passion for helping people reach their optimal state. During her studies she has worked as an allied health assistant and a barista; enjoying two things she loves, helping people and drinking coffee!

Emma can't wait to meet the Active Physiotherapy Team to help her move forward in reaching her goal in becoming a Physiotherapist.

We thank our community for helping us to provide our placement students with critical learning and mentoring opportunities in their final placement of their degree.

Over the years we have hosted many student placements, these students are in their final year of their studies and have already completed 3 years as well as a number of clinical experience placements in different health settings. At the end of their placements with our clinic, we expect the experience to allow our students to be treating you at the same level as a graduated and fully qualified Physiotherapist.

To allow students more opportunities to learn we have a minimal cost to see the
student - $30 per consultation (unless you are a Wagga Netball / SSA athlete). All consultations have close supervision and mentoring from senior team members.

The 2022 Academy Games were hosted in Wagga Wagga!

We were honoured to provide the physiotherapy support for the 2022 Academy Games in April as long term partners of the Southern Sports Academy. It was a big weekend that was a massive success.

A huge thank you to Mark Calverley and Cathy Breese for their work in preparing for this event. There were 1300 athletes competing in hockey, netball, basketball, golf, tennis, triathlon and cycling.
