Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiologists are university trained health professionals with extensive knowledge in exercise prescription and programming.
Exercise Physiology services are not limited to chronic disease management, they can also provide safe and appropriate exercise programs for any individual wishing to improve their fitness and function. Exercise Physiologists are passionate about helping people take an active approach to rehabilitation, encouraging self management of injury flare ups and improving general health and wellbeing.
At Active Physiotherapy, our Exercise Physiologist can prescribe both home and gym-based programs for the following:
Injury rehabilitation
NDIS participants
Falls prevention
Weight management
Osteoporosis/Osteoarthritis
Cardiopulmonary Disease
Diabetes Mellitus
Postural correction
Core strengthening
General conditioning
The governing body for Exercise Physiologists is Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). In order to maintain accreditation, members are required to undertake continuing professional development to ensure they are up to date with current research and exercise prescription guidelines. Exercise Physiology services at Active Physiotherapy are eligible for claiming with Medicare, Department of Veterans’ Affairs and Workcover. Private health fund rebates are also available depending on your level of cover.
